Dog Training Tips
Begin training your dog early on. If you wait
too long, it will have developed habits which will be harder to break.
When house training your dog, pay attention to
the times in which they are likely to need to go to the bathroom. For
example, after they eat, after they play or after they wake up.
Is your dog jumping on you or company when it
greats them. Do not enforce this behavior by petting your dog or pushing
him down. They will think you are playing. Instead block their jump by
turning away from your dog or raising your knee.
When crate training your puppy, never leave
them in a crate for more than a few hours. Four hours is about as long as
you can expect your puppy to hold their bladder.
Remember to socialize your puppy. Expose them
to as many people and different situations as possible. By doing this you
have a better chance of having a friendly non aggressive dog.
When disciplining your dog, don't use its name
with a reprimand. You don't want it to begin associating its name with
something bad.
Never train your dog when you are angry. Fear
can inhibit your dog from learning.
When training, give your dog only one command
at a time. If you blend commands, chances are they will get confused. |
